Belledonne Massif | GR738

The Belledonne massif, above Grenoble, crossed from south to north by the GR738 all the way to Aiguebelle and the Maurienne valley.

126.6 km and 9,712 metres of elevation gain along the ridge that separates the Grésivaudan valley from the Grandes Rousses. The stages along the route stand out: the start at Vif in the south, the climb to the Grand Colon, the Pra and La Pra refuges, the Col de Freydane, Lac du Crozet, and the finish at Argalière in the north. In between, a succession of summits regularly topping 2,500 metres — Grand Pic de Belledonne, Sept Laux, Pierre du Carré — and glacial lakes hidden in the combes.
